    <description xml:lang="en" descriptionType="Abstract">This data archive collects ground displacement time series produced by INGV InSAR working group and GeoSAR Laboratory.  The products are retrieved with multi-temporal InSAR (MT-InSAR) processing applied to stack of SAR images, acquired by several space agencies. They are provided in shapefile format and accompanied by files collecting the main parameters related to the acquisitions and the data processing.</description>
    <description xml:lang="it" descriptionType="Abstract">Questo archivio di dati raccoglie le serie temporali di spostamento del suolo prodotte dal gruppo di lavoro InSAR e dal Laboratorio GeoSAR dell' INGV. I prodotti sono ottenuti mediante elaborazione multi-temporale InSAR (MT-InSAR) applicata a stack di immagini SAR, acquisite da diverse agenzie spaziali. Sono forniti in formato shapefile e corredati da file che raccolgono i principali parametri relativi alle acquisizioni e all'elaborazione dei dati.</description>
    <description xml:lang="en" descriptionType="Methods">The product is obtained starting from a stack of SAR images used as input to a multitemporal InSAR processing algorithm (i.e. SBAS, PS, IPTA, SQUEESAR). These advanced InSAR techniques allow to monitor the area under investigation with a temporal sampling of 6 days for the Italian territory and with an accuracy for the displacement estimate of about 1.5 mm/yr.</description>
    <description xml:lang="en" descriptionType="TechnicalInfo">In order to achieve the displacement map, several processing steps are required, such as the co-registration of all the images wuth respect of the supermaster one, the generation of the interferogram, the removal of the topographic contribution by means of a digital model of the terrain (external source) , the filtering to reduce the noise, the unwrapping of the phase. Then an inversion algortihm is applied to retrieve the displacement, at this stage also a double filtering is performed to estimatwe and removal of the atmospheric effects;  finally the geocoding step hss made retrieving the grpund displacement time series and the mean velocity map.</description>
