The data base have been implemented by adding some geological features which were unrepresentable in the geological map for scale reason, moreover new historic and archeomagnetic dating have been add (Tanguy et al., 2007) In the new geological map of Etna volcano lithostratigraphy was used for mapping volcanic units and then Unconformity Bounded Units were applied to group lithostratigraphic units into synthems. Moreover, lithosomes were exploited to better represent the spatial localization of different eruptive centres according to their morphology. Lithostratigraphic and lithosomatic units are both represented as Synthem Super Syntem and Lithosom.
